Frequently Asked Questions The lock screen doesn't appear when my phone wakes up Voice Unlock needs several Android permissions before it can replace the lock screen: Display over other apps — required to show the lock UI on top of the system. Microphone — required to listen for your unlock phrase. Notifications — required for the foreground service that watches the screen. Open the App, tap the warning banner on the Home screen, and grant any permission marked "Required". On some devices (Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, Huawei) you may also need to whitelist the App in Battery → Background activity so it isn't killed by the manufacturer's power saver.
